September 2010
Hi to All:
How strange that summer will be gone in a few weeks and spring or fall has been here in Northern California for months. We had a two day heat wave which precluded the end of what we use to call summer. I guess we are experiencing part of the global changes because in the 35 years I've lived in this neck of the woods, I never remember such a chilly summer. I know that's regular for San Francisco... as Mark Twain once said "the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." But one hour north or south is usually a big difference in warmth.
August has been a very precarious month for me besides the weather...alot of belief work and introspection. In writing on my book, it has brought up all kinds of left-over beliefs to work on as well as really connecting with what I believe is true for me at the higher levels of my consciousness...learning a deeper level of presence with myself. I started questioning how I held certain words. This is good for the writer part of myself.
In this past July's Theta webcast, Vianna discussed using the statement, "I have plenty" when making sure that you keep up with your financial assets. So when things felt more difficult for me, I went around my house saying, "I have plenty." It seemed like a reasonable affirmation to help shift me out of those bluezy feelings of lack. What I realized was that the word 'plenty' made me feel more agitated and unsettled.
In listening to one of Vianna's webcasts from several months ago, she was talking about the word, "surrendering." She said not to surrender, that it's a 5th Plane belief.
For me, there are different angles of how surrender is used for people and situations. There is a difference between letting things go that don't serve or belong to me which is surrendering; and there is a kind of surrendering which is indicative of defeat to another's requests, demands, or actions, or a loss of self will. So I sent a question back to her for the August webcast asking why would it not be a good idea to know when to surrender w/o feeling defeated or a loss of self will. Her response was more than interesting because she opened up a place of vulnerability in how she holds her beliefs and how words can be interpreted.
"The word 'surrender' is like the word 'service'…there is a good way for service and there is being like a servant. Here’s the key…I say that you need to work with your subconscious, and our subconscious belief of 'surrender' is usually surrendering to defeat. We have a philosophy that sounds beautiful around surrendering, but I need to know your subconscious beliefs about that. If you want to make the word really special and long so that you know when to 'surrender', I think you should just know when to 'let go'. If there is a problem, and you have to explain a word to your subconscious so that it really sounds right, then maybe it’s something your subconscious isn’t use to learning. I was told not to say I surrender, but that I always go forward. I have deep genetic roots on the word 'surrender'. Although it sounds beautiful in poetry, and it sounds beautiful to surrender my life to the Higher Source, but really and truly, I can give my life over to the Higher Source.
So if you feel you can use the word surrender w/o your subconscious getting stressed out and feel that the Creator knows what you mean when you say it, then by all means do it. But in the meantime, I was told not to surrender; that I could give my will over to the Creator-of-ALL-That- IS. I can actually let go of things that are bothering me, and I don’t have to use that word because it doesn’t make me feel comfortable. It could be for the fact that I played chess for so many years, and surrendering is not an option. But if you have used it more in a poetry sense, then you have to use your judgment on that.
I have the English language. I don’t have the Italian or Spanish language who have far more words than I do. Heck, the Greeks have all these words for love. I have one word—love—love of a man, love of a family, and they all mean different things. You know in your heart when you’re talking to the Creator. Your intention...that’s what you have to go by."
I sat with all of this. It was obviuos that 'surrender' had a genetic impact on Vianna, so she had words that she could use for herself and recommended it to the group in case there were genetic ramifications that hadn't been explored yet. And I had this big charge on 'plenty.' So I wrote down everything I could think of consciously that might trigger me and then energy tested it. 'Plenty' was about bad things for me which overrode any positive qualities that might be inherent in it. I cleared the conscious level, and then took a deep breath, closed my eyes and felt my body. From there came my unconscious beliefs, and I cleared them. I then proceeded to use the word 'plenty' and step into its energy. (remember that when you change beliefs, mock up situations to see how you feel in being in the new reality. If it doesn't feel right, you're not done.) It felt much better, but there was just a little body energy left that felt unsettled.
While I was relaxing during my Jin Shin Jyutsu session the next day, talking to my practitioner and friend, Jane, about this 'plenty' predicament, I thought about what my ancestors would say about 'plenty'. Sensing down my genetic lineage, I heard, "There is always plenty of misery." I struck gold! It was a deep genetic and cultural belief from my Jewish background. I could hear my ancestors' chorus their praises to the amount of misery they had available in their lives as if it was something to be proud of. I had Creator clear it out, and the shift occurred. There was no longer that weird unsettled feeling in my right lung area, and I could walk around saying "I have plenty" and it didn't mean spiders, health issues, or fat cells. There was this wonderful space to recognize the real plenty of life.
With an abundance of plentiful blessings,
Judy

Dancing classrooms
Remember the movie, “Take the Lead” with Antonio Banderas who played the role of the true life dance teacher, Pierre Dulaine, teaching high school juveniles respect, pride and confidence. That is what Dulaine’s dance method is about. He takes the dance that is inherent in students’ bodies and helps them to bring it out, not force it in, enabling students to increase their self-esteem as they learn. The Dulaine Method can be compared to two of the most thorough and successful educational methods that help children acquire skills they need to become successful adults: The Montessori Method and the Suzuki Method. Dancing Classrooms possesses the same ingredients that make these educational methods successful: a clear and compelling philosophy with a rigorous and systematic training model that dramatically coincides with the developmental need within 10-11 year old children to reinforce their social skills just prior to the onset of puberty. And Dancing Classrooms is now being replicated throughout the US and Canada with requests from several international sites. http://www.dancingclassroomsmb.com/the_dulaine_method.php

HUMANITARIAN
365 days. 33 countries. 12 humanitarian projects. 1 question: Are they courageous or reckless? The idea crystallized during a business trip to Peru in 2009. Teresa Keller, who turned 40 this year, was brooding about where her life was headed. Already in the process of breaking up with her boyfriend and moving out of the house they’d shared together, Keller was commuting three hours daily to her job in Boston as executive director of the Archaeological Institute of America, while raising three children for whom “quality mom time’’ was often more wish than reality. On August 1st, Keller and crew — daughters Jennifer Manglass, 18, and Isabella Gagliardo, 12; son Alexander Gagliardo, 13; and family friend Meagan Franz, 17 — embark on a journey that many families fantasize about, but few have the means or resolve to undertake. For the next 12 months, they’ll travel around the world, volunteering at a dozen humanitarian projects stretching from Europe to Asia to South America. Keller has sold many of her family’s personal possessions to finance the trip and is pulling two of her children out of school for a year. She’s created a nonprofit organization, Round the World With Us, and website (www.rtwwithus.org) on which the five travelers will blog, podcast, and fund-raise for these projects.

SOCIAL CHANGES
Shutting Upstate Jails for City Kids Has Made a Fiery Bronx Bureaucrat a Host of Enemies
A compact, tough-talking Puerto Rican woman from the Bronx named Gladys Carrión is the commissioner of the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), a $4 billion agency that oversees foster care, adoption, and juvenile delinquency in New York State. Horrified by what she found in facilities upstate, Carrión set out to close down the most egregious juvenile centers and rid all facilities of the worst kinds of practices for physically restraining kids. What makes her so unusual is that it's hard to remember any government official who so ardently wanted to put herself out of a job: She is systematically dismantling significant parts of the state agency that she oversees. http://www.villagevoice.com/2010-08-04/news/gladys-carrion-upstate-jails-for-city-kids-bronx/1/

HEALTH
Enzyme, Photolyase, heals fractures in seconds
For the first time, researchers have witnessed how a key enzyme, found in many animals and plants but not humans, works at the atomic level to repair sun-damaged DNA. Scientists were able to observe the enzyme, called photolyase, inject a single electron and proton into an injured strand of DNA. These subatomic particles healed the damage in a fraction of a second. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2010/08/14/enzyme-that-reverses-sun-damage-discovered.aspx
Plantar Warts can increase in Summertime
Children are especially vulnerable when they spend time at the local swimming pool or perhaps at summer camp. The virus that causes these warts is HPV or human papillomavirus. It is extremely infectious and can lurk on damp surfaces, clothing, towels and skin. Direct contact with any HPVs can infect your child’s skin through a scratch or wound. The virus then grows inwards. If you are not sure whether your child has a plantar wart (as they can sometimes be confused with a callous), just squeeze the lesion between your fingers as if pinching. If this action is painful, you know you are faced with a planter wart that needs to be treated. It can be treated safely and successfully using a natural product such as one formulated with essential oils. http://www.naturalnews.com/029406_plantar_warts_children.html
DMSA Chelation
Our bodies are constantly exposed to an onslaught of environmental toxins. Lead and mercury are two heavy metals that seem to have found their way into almost everyone. Lead and mercury do not occur naturally in the body and as such are very toxic. DMSA) is a compound approved in the 1960’s by the FDA for the removal (chelation) of heavy metals. DMSA is considered the preferred agent for the chelation (removal) of heavy metals in both adults and children. http://dmsachelation.com
Do antibiotics make you fat? Science magazine has just published on March 4, 2010, other important research that observed similar phenomena as Blaser Researchers at Cornell, Emory, and the University of Colorado have found that gut microbiota determines how food is digested and fat is stored in the body. They noted that antibiotics disrupt certain bacteria in the gut that can lead to obesity as well as to increased inflammatory processes that can cause metabolic syndrome, a serious condition that can lead to high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, and a higher risk for developing diabetes and heart disease.
